The starting salary for this position will be between $75,000 and $85,000.

In this position you will achieve that goal by providing leadership on all financial matters and by helping to creating a great place to work.  If you are visionary and strategic and have strong experience and skills in public financial management, this position is for you.

What You Will Do

Drawing on a range of operational and strategic financial management knowledge and skills, you will oversee all functions of the Town’s Finance Department and will provide guidance on financial policies and practices to all other areas of Town government.  Your two main goals will be to (1) maintain the Town’s strong financial condition, and (2) develop improved financial structures and systems to ensure that the Town’s financial practices are not only sound, but also up to date and forward looking.

Experience and Knowledge Needed

This position requires a dynamic individual...one who can attend to small details and also sees how systems interconnect. You must be able to guide others through change, on both an individual and organization-wide scale. A broad range of public accounting and financial management knowledge and skills are needed. Past financial leadership experience is desired but not required. However, leadership experience in other capacities (with examples of informal or peer-to-peer leadership) is a must. We can support an individual to grow their leadership skills, but there must be demonstrated potential for this. We are looking for a financial management professional who has experience in:

  • Public Sector Accounting and Compliance with Financial Standards

  • Improvement of Internal Controls and Other Financial Procedures

  • Supervision of Employees and of Financial Operations

  • Financial Forecasting

  • Debt Management

  • Promoting Overall Organizational Effectiveness
